Somatic Trauma Therapy is a unique emotional healing approach that recognizes the connection between the mind and body. It is based on the belief that our bodies hold onto the memories of past trauma and experiences and that these memories can be released through Narrative Therapy and Yoga Nidra.

  • Narrative Therapy is the guided, gradual re-telling of the traumatic event, repeating the developing narrative verbally in consecutive sessions until the event no longer holds the emotional power over the individual that interferes with daily contentment.

  • Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that is often referred to as “yogic sleep” It is a practice that involves lying down or sitting in a comfortable position and following a guided meditation that takes you through relaxation and conscious awareness.

Somatic Trauma Therapy includes a 30-minute session with Jamie Shumake, LMHC followed by a 30-minute session with Lorriann Hartwick, E-RYT 500.

Somatic Trauma Therapy is offered in Person and Online.
